Postpartum Workshop

Postpartum is for life, but you can restore your body and your lifestyle!
Join Phillip Scruggs and Dr. Katie Davenport as they address common issues and imbalances to the body postpartum. In addition to learning about concerns and misconceptions associated with being postpartum, participants will actively learn exercises to strengthen and reinforce as well as correct imbalances in the core, hips, and back.
Please feel free to come with questions. Mats will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own.

Phillip is the owner of Brazos Valley Barbell in College Station, Texas and an elite sports performance coach. He has trained multiple Olympians in Track and Field, as well as Swimming and Diving. While attending Texas A&M University’s Exercise Physiology PhD program, he was sent by A&M’s Athletic Department to begin studying the work of Dr Guy Voyer MD, DO. Utilizing Dr. Voyer’s SomaTraining and SomaTherapy program, Phillip has been able to train and rehabilitate athletes to compete at the highest of levels at the World Championships and Olympic Games. In addition to the Olympic Development Athletes, he has worked with A&M’s Track and Field, Swimming and Diving, Golf, and Soccer teams. Phillip is now looking to expand these methodologies into the realm of health, longevity and beyond.

Dr. Katie Davenport, PT, DPT, COMT

Katie is the owner of Restorative Physical Therapy and graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Angelo State University. She received her Bachelors in Kinesiology from Texas A&M class of 2011. She works with many orthopedic diagnoses but has found her passion and specializes in dysfunction and disorders of the Temporomandibular Joint and Pelvic Floor. The specialties of TMD and pelvic floor have been a growing interest, and she works with many dentists and OBGYNs to collaborate on patient care. She has a Certification in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (COMT) which is a post-graduate specialization improving manual therapy skills, advanced clinical reasoning, and evidenced-based and patient-centered approaches. She is also certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling. She will be sitting for the board exam to become a Certified Cervical & Temporomandibular Therapist (CCTT) in the near future.
